Formed in 2006, TysonsTunnel.org was a coalition of the McLean Chamber of Commerce, community and business leaders, and concerned citizens formed with the goal of creating a fair and competitive bidding process for the Metrorail extension to Dulles International Airport and reopening consideration of a tunnel option for the Tysons Corner project portion. Circular ads were placed in community publications to first inform the public of the lack of a fair, competitive bidding process and persuade them to support the need for further consideration of the tunnel for Metrorail through the nation’s 12th largest business district.
